020 Flange Info

PN: 020 498 085G is for the flange kit. Circlip, seal, and dust cap

PN: 020.409.297 is for JUST the circlip

The goove seems to be around 23.78mm diameter (Shaft diameter is 24.38mm)

This means a standard "25mm" circlip should fit. I bought a 28 because I found some bad docs online, oops.

There are three different types of 020 output flanges: 90mm old, 90mm new, and 100mm.

  • 90mm old
    • Used before 1983
    • No green sleeves
    • Thicker seals
  • 90mm new
    • Used after April 1983
    • Green sleeve in one side for new housings
    • Green sleeve in both sides for old housings
    • Thinner seals
  • 100mm
    • Switched sometime during MK2 era (1986+), but some MK2 still use 90mm

100mm flanges are slightly taller, and as such 100m axle shafts are slightly shorter to compensate
